Staff Accountant - San Diego – 47 -52 K Commensurate with Experience
Summary of responsibilities:
• Purchases, payments, payables
• Input purchase orders
• Collect authorized packing slips and post receivers
• Collect physical support and post invoices
• Receive and process expense reports
• Assist other departments in the effective coding of invoices
• Generate “invoices available for payment” report and organize physical support
• Generate checks and/or initiate cash transfers and organize support
• Have supported checks signed and distributed
• Maintain check logs and have transactions approved
• Maintain A/P files by vendor
Sales, receipts, receivables
• Input sales orders
• Reconcile shipping logs and produce and distribute invoices
• Prepare deposit slips and make cash deposits (cash s/b listed independently when mail opened if possible)
• Maintain A/R files by customer
Inventories
• Maintain inventory sub-ledger
• Update sub-ledger for all in and out flow
• Assist in the physical count process
Fixed Assets
• Maintain fixed assets sub-ledger
• Update sub-ledger for all additions and disposals
• Implement and maintain asset identification and physical count process
Administrative
• Assist in the preparation of the analysis of balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the preparation of variance analysis
• Prepare local other sales tax filings
• Process payrolls and liaise with payroll providers
• Adhere to current SOX processes as required and assisting in the development of new processes or improvement of existing processes to create superior internal controls
• Assist in other financial projects as required

Title Inventory Accountant
Description The Inventory Accountant must possess the business and interpersonal acumen and accounting knowledge necessary to become a change agent within the organization. The ability to manage multiple and diverse projects in a stressful environment will be essential for success in this position.

Responsible for balancing, reconciling, and recording accounting activity to the corporate general ledger. Significant interface and communication with business units regarding inventory, inventory accruals and other general ledger activities. Ensure monthly transactions are recorded using JD Edwards software. Assist in process improvements primarily for non-merchandise inventory and take actions to identify, analyze and improve existing accounting processes and reconciliations. Job functions include, but not be limited to: work with In country controllers and business units, perform monthly account reconciliation, review inventory related accruals, monitor inventory transactions and prepare complex reconciliations to sub-ledger, maintain back-up documentation, adhere to Internal Control/SOX narratives and participate in special projects. Travel to business units twice or more a year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Research and resolve issues on balance sheet accounts with dept and/or systems
• Ensure proper General Ledger coding, work with individuals to correct errors
• Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Inventory and cost (duties, freight, fees) related to distribution of non-merchandise account reconciliations.
• Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analytics and resolution of system errors or variances.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and other local, state, federal accounting rules, policies and requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by management


QUALIFICATIONS
• BS in Accounting or Finance
• JD Edwards / Oracle experience (preferred)
• Proficient/Advanced in Windows including Excel, Access and Word
• Minimum 5 years experience in the accounting field
• Bi-lingual Spanish required
• Strong understanding of Internal Controls / Sarbanes Oxley
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Self motivated and proactive solution seeker

Title Credit Manager
Description Join a successful San Diego privately held (30M) importer, wholesaler and installation contractor and report directly to the Director of Finance.

This unique opportunity is an ideal fit for an experienced Credit Manager who is interested in shifting over to more of a project manager role. Because of the industry and sales cycle of the product the Credit Manager will be responsible for managing the payment of up to 60 projects at a time. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization skills, comfortable communicating with senior management internally and externally.

Additional responsibilities include:
Daily Deposit preparation, Accounts Receivable Collections and Calls, Weekly and Monthly Receivable Projections, Monthly Program Accounts Receivable Report Update, Monthly Reconciliation of collections with A/R, Coordinate legal collection proceedings with counsel when necessary, Lien Documents review and preparation. The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of all actual, budget and forecast gross margin results and inventory valuation/transactional data to effectively produce required management reporting.
