Mike Silvio is a Director of CBIZ MHM, LLC leads the San Diego and Orange County offices’ Research & Experimentation (R&E) Tax Credit Services Group.
Mike has more than 19 years of experience in public accounting and tax and has served a variety of businesses in the manufacturing, construction, professional service and not-for-profit industries. Mike’s primary focus is in R&E tax credit services. He has conducted over 250 research credit studies for numerous companies in various industries, and has served as a representative before the IRS and state taxing authorities to support and defend numerous research credit claims for taxpayers.
He also has experience in financial accounting, reporting and management, auditing, and individual and business income tax. Mike has supervised compilations, audits and reviews for various clients, including small and medium sized businesses, in addition to providing income tax planning, consulting and compilation services.
Mike is a CPA certified in California. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with an emphasis on accounting from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.
Gary Fujita is a Senior Manager with the Consulting Group of CBIZ MHM, LLC. He has over 15 years of professional experience. His background is in accounting and specializes in internal audit and risk management advisory services. Prior to joining CBIZ MHM, Gary was an instrumental member in the growth of the risk management consulting practices for two national accounting and consulting firms that are focused on the middle market. In addition, Gary performed project management services for international outsourced accounting, bookkeeping and statutory reporting projects. Prior to the consulting services experience, Gary worked as a corporate controller with a healthcare consulting company and as an audit supervisor with a national accounting firm.
Gary assists clients in a wide range of areas, including business process reviews, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal control assessments, internal audits, audit preparation, financial modeling and strategic business planning. Gary’s experience includes a variety of industries, not limited to but including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, distribution, insurance, financial institutions, television / entertainment, and various service industries.
