With nearly 90 years of history behind it, The National Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) has over 65,000 worldwide members actively participating in over 250 local chapters. The San Diego chapter boasts a group of nearly 500 dedicated members who represent a diverse cross section of the local business community. CFO's, Controllers and Directors, Assistant Controllers, Accounting and Finance Managers, Staff Accountants and Financial Analysts, each of these functions comprise our chapter membership and rely on the IMA for support. And as diverse as our local industry base is, so to is our membership which includes professionals from public and private companies, those which are family owned and operated and those which are managed by venture capital and private equity firms.
Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). We’re glad you have stopped by. IMA is a professional association dedicated to management accountants at all levels of the profession, providing education and networking opportunities.
The San Diego chapter holds a monthly meeting on the second Thursday of the month at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley. Networking starts at 5:30pm and the dinner meeting at 6:30, with one hour of CPE available for meeting attendance. Members and nonmembers are welcome. In addition, there are periodic seminars, and meetings of the Controller’s Council, geared to financial managers in industry.
IMA sponsors the designation of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA). For more details on the certification process, visit the website at www.imanet.org, or contact us.
We are always interested in what our members would like to hear about, and welcome anyone to consider joining the board and assist in leading the chapter. Please contact us for more information.
